Our name may sound familiar to the Durham, NC community...and we hope it does. Nearly New was a thrift store that served the Durham community for 52 years and was recently closed. We honor that legacy through the creation of the New Nearly New Thrift Shop. We are proud that many of those involved in the New Nearly New were involved in the original store.

New Nearly New, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, welcomes your donations of clothing, and other items such as household goods, jewelry and furniture. Our mission is to give free clothing and other items to people in need.  To support our endeavor, we sell a portion of the donated items in our thrift store. Our goal is to give away at least one item for every item sold. We rely on partner organizations who identify and work with those in need in our community and throughout North Carolina to distribute our items for free. We also welcome your cash and in kind donations as well as bequests, devises, transfers and gifts.
